I just realized that there are already many hentai mmorpgs existing so I thought I should start a discussion about this. The most ones currently appearing are mainly made in Korea and I wonder why nobody at Japan got the idea of this done before them. 3Fell was the very first one released even though that it is more 3D then anything hentai. Basic Instinct (which is made by Bizzard O_o), Reverse Online and Red Light Center are just a few ones but it seems like that many games start already to disappear. I even saw games that are Ecchi ones that actually look from the graphics good but they all are still to much "soft".

Why do you think they are still no sexy hentai mmorpgs that arent actually not only just "massive multiplayer orgies" with not that good looking graphics even though they would sell like hell, even if it would be ftp they would earn tons with donation items? What would you think of a mmo version that is like the LoveDeath hentai series? They did a ecchi dating sim mmo one named Ai Sp@ce last year that is already close to it...

No, there is just a japanese dating sim mmo existing without hentai, just ecchi (there is a english translation patch existing for the system settings though) that is based on Da Capo, Shuffle! and Clannad.

I don't think such a thing will work well at all. MMO mostly work / exist because of the ability to communicate with people in there.. it's all about community.

If anyone of you played any mmo you know that the game itself is just one part, the part that makes WOW and other mmos so addicting is the community. People got there clans and got those online activities they do together.

Imho there will never be something like this in a Hentai / Porn mmorpg, so they will sooner or later go down...

OK Number one on my piss and groan list is the fact that they LUMP everything into the "GAME" list, many of these pieces of crud are not games at all but picture flip books.
Now I cannot speak for anyone but myself but I DO NOT consider a picture flip book to be a game by any way or means.
Number two on my piss and moan list is that no matter how much they try to gloss up the cover of the "game" they give no effort into telling you if the game involves still images or animated images. Many a game looks good untill you find out it is composed of still images and a ton of nonsense dialogue.
Number three on my piss and moan list is if you find a GOOD combat engine, wtf can you NOT use it more than a single time. Many a good story is RUINED by making some weird type of game engine that is almost impossible to comprehend. Why not find a good simple game engine and stick with it!!!

Please by all means properly classify your ACTUAL games apart from your video picture books and other trash. Game to my way of thought means you make choices and that there are chance encounters and personal decision paths, even if your number of endings is limited.

There is a MASSIVE market for Hentai games but all of us are stuck with this quick production cheap crud they keep shoveling into our laps. Step back a minute and truly look at what they offer, most of what they call a "game" was built with less complexity than the game Robozou, but of course they keep pumping out trash and never ever seem to listen to what we want and are willing to P A Y for. To my way of thinking that is just plain foolishly bad business. Ero Night was a cute game, Turupeta was a cute game, Robozou was a cute game, but these seem to be the exceptions to the game market rather than the rule. I have seen several of the Cayro products and I really cannot call any of them an actual "game" and I have to say the same for the StudioS products. There may be a story in there somewhere but......YEECH
If we can pay 20 dollars US currency a month on many games online and look at the quality we get, then wth are we paying what we do for these lousy productions they offer us?????

I don't really know what you are talking about...all those I played till now which are all that did exist till now were free to play and the highest quality currently possible but none was really hentai just ecchi or 3D porn.

You know that we are talking about mmorpgs and not offline hentai games?!

OP: Thats a very intriguing question, at second glance. Here's my two cents:


I should like to mention before hand that I have not played any MMORPGs, nor probably ever will. However, I've been shown how they work by acquaintances, so I know the mechanics and the general get-up and all.

One problem I see with erotic, or "hentai" MMORPGs is the visuals. To reach the critical mass to sustain itself, MMORPGs must sell like all hell, and thus run on outdated client machines. That in turn means visuals have to be restricted to a certain, undesirable level. I mean, do come on, I'd rather jerk off to some chopsticks arranged on a table than to something on the level of, say, WOW. Personally, what intrigues / turns me on about hentai is the beauty. If I wanted to look at crippling uglyness, I'd just download some porn or play some video game from the eighties.

The second is the storytelling. You basically have two hugely different user-bases: Those who want a story, and those who want a quick fix. So what they did so far was cater to those who want a quick rub-rub and that's it; resulting in those "multiplayer orgies" that don't do jack all for people like me. This in turn also means that you get no big return business: No storylines means no long-term interest means no repeat customer spells death for your game. On the other hand, a story-heavy game would scare off the main customer base - i.e. legions of super-horny teenagers who would be frustrated by sitting there playing through some game for hours with an aching crotch before they get what they're there for.

The third is the interaction. I must concede I somewhat agree with akaltar. I can only speak for myself, but I'd probably not be too keen on blabbing it up with others in a sex-centered game, especially knowing the usual online-game userbase, which is fixated mostly on tired internet jokes and "LOL, YO MOMMA!111" spamming. That does not entice me to get over my super-shy approach to talking about my likes/fantasies/whatever, which would probably be a somewhat integral part of a "hentai" MMORPG. It's tough enough for me to talk about those with my girl-friend, let alone with some random "LOLZ 4 TEH WIN" internet 'tard.

The fourth is, well, politics. Surmise you get it off the ground, and it becomes popular - imagine the political shitstorm. From what I hear, you germans have enough troubles with your politicos identifying WOW-playing-youngsters as the root of all evil. Add to that the media flurry about how they found PORNOGRAPHIC! IMAGES! ON! THE! COMPUTER! of that winnenden guy, and then imagine what happens if teenage boys or girls would be playing (and undoubtedly they would, age-based restrictions simply. do. not. work.) a PORN BASED ONLINE COMPUTER GAME! You'd have the entire political caste in your corporate headquarters with flamethrowers and crosses the next day.

Sorry to burst your bubble , but you do know how game designers work, right? "Kill 500 tree stumps to get 50 branches, then kill 500 slime-fish to get 50 arse-fins, then use those items to get a wedding ring made, deliver that to janitor Blow Job of Quest-Town, solved"
In a hentai-based game, that would end up something like "boff 500 were-cows to gain 50 udders and give a hand-job to 500 dickgirls to get 50 sunglasses, then use those items to get a golden condom made, deliver that to king Black Beard of Quest-Town, solved".

Too True....I was using the free online games instead of mmorpg as an example but in the mmorpg categories you have such flops as the Star Wars Galaxies and City of Heros.]
Both those mmorpgs to me were mostly flops due to the lack of true questing ability and content. To address other concerns you can have lots of borderline content in a Hentai mmorpg, quests for outfits and toys, secret encounters, potions to increase stats or favor. If you give it a little thought (I know it might be hard after Hulu has reduced your brain to a cottage cheese like consistency) you can find lots of things to quest about. Another point is that your interaction does not lie solely with other players, the interaction you have with npcs and with the mobs you fight, example if you are going to be sodomized if you lose a fight with a well endowed ogre you might have a desire to win that fight and get away but if you are fighting a well formed succubus/incubus (depending on gender and tastes) well it might be fun to lose that fight.
Now as for visuals, I like a smooth running game, let the images blend smoothly from one scene to the next, all too many games have this horrible hesitation as you try to wade thru the endless dialogue. And by all means loose the teletubby looking charcters, why japanese frequently feel the need to make their charcters look like brain dead street people on LSD, outfits that look like potato sacks upon which they have glued shiny knic knacks, charcter that always seem to scream into the hypersonic hearing ranges, hairstyles that make you want to go around bald and wtf is it with them and sailor outfits and striped panties??????????????

I think they are. At least they won't communicate like in other mmos..

No, they aren't... I think that you don't ever played a adult rated mmo...the players aren't that way so they sure wouldn't be like that in a hentai mmo.

I think griefing would be really high in an adult mmo like this...aka guys playing chicks to mess with other guys' heads...So I'm not personally interested in joining something like that...
