ok, then i will answer u in English:
VDSL has a rate from 5:1 downstream to upstream.
that means if u got 50MBits u will have 10 Mbits Upstream.
25Mbits gets u a 5 MBits Upstream.
All Questions answered?

u know, that paying for VDSL 50 doesn't mean u get full 50 MBits?.
if u got it from T-Online the VDSL has this range:

Downstream: 16.704-25.064 kbit/s, Upstream: 1,6-5 MBit/s - VDSL 50: (Entertain Comfort VDSL oder Entertain Comfort Plus VDSL)
Downstream: 27.968-51.392 kbit/s, Upstream: 1,7-10 MBit/s

Now, i have DSL 6Mbit (from T-Online) and i have (from rapidshare - premium) always ~ 650 KB/s

Ich muß in deutsch antworten, da mein englisch miserabel bis nicht vorhanden ist
Ich besitze seit einiger Zeit die DSL 25.000der Leitung und kann nur sagen, wer viel im Netz macht, Downloads und auch Upploads, der sollte sich das vielleicht antun, auch wenn es nicht wirklich billig ist, ist es zu empfehlen.
Da ich selbst ein sogenanntes Bilderbuch mit über 50.000 Bildern betreibe und auch in einigen Boards mitarbeite , ist es schon sehr gut eine so schnelle Leitung zu haben, da sich die Downloadzeiten und auch die Uploadzeiten sehr verringert haben.
Auch sauge ich viele andere Sachen und muß sagen das ich einen DL Speed von 150 KB/s beim saugen von 20 Files immer noch hab und das spricht eigendlich für sich
Sollte man sich halt Überlegen, ob man es benötigt und dann entscheiden, ob man es sich zulegt.
Das Entertain ist halt ein nettes Zusatzgerät. mit dem man halt über das Internet Fernsehen kann und es kostet halt nix extra. Braucht man nicht wirklich, aber was solls.

well the speed u're able to get from T-Online is based on the damping of ur cable.
That means it depends on ur distance between ur House & the Access-Point...

yup, entertain is a bonus u normally don't need.
But having such a connection isn't bad either.
i personally have only 340KBits and i need lots more, coz i'm running a private server that is accessible from the web.
Very annoying if u want to read a mail witch attachmend and it only gives u 7 KB/s downstream....
If available, i would have a 100MBits connection.
but the only way to get such a connection ist bying an Business-Connection. And these are very expensive...
Joa, it's a bit expennsive, but it's worth it.
At least that's waht i'm thinking ^^

the telekom will throttle you to DSL 6k if u download more than 100 GB per month

Drossel ist freilich ne Frechheit, aber die wollen halt die raus haben die ein Haufen Datenvolumen verursachen, weil sonst die Rechnung mit der Flatrate nicht aufgeht, da solche Leute eben in den fall ab 100 GByte in einem Monat, nicht mehr in deren Kalkulation passen, is halt nun mal so Niemand hat heute noch was zu verschenken, ob wohl ich mich ja dann frage wie die Rechnung dann bei denen aufgeht die Entertain noch dazu haben, die haben doch dann sicher mehr als 100 GByte in einem Monat.

There is maximal 6.016 kBit/s für den Downstream und 576 kBit/s für den Upstream ->
6.016 -> 6 Mbps, or 6 KB/s ^^ ??
no, the throttling will only happen if u have VDSL.
The normal DSL (i suppose it's what u mean ^^) doesn't have such an article in the AGBs.
obviously 6Mbits.
and not KB. Kbits is s.th. else. And it u're strickt u had to write KBits per Second.

I checked on the https://eki-tribal.t-home.de/komplettpakete/next08/vdslmap.html and i`m not in the range of VDSL ;<<<
ah the 16Mbits are the maximum speed availabe for normal DSL.
VDSL (Very High Bitrate DSL) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Very_high_bitrate_digital_subscriber_line
is a little bit different.
At first u need to have your access-point connected via LWL.
And than the "last mile" ist here also with normal copper-wire. But the hardware technic used is different.
But your speed is also depending on the distance between u and ur DSLAM.
But if the telekom doesn't say u're in the area where vdsl is availabel u won't have the chance to get such an connection.
but u can try the cable-provider such as kabel-deutschland.
there u can have 100Mbits, if available.
