Hat jemand ein gutes Gehäuse für 4 Platten?

Die meisten Shuttle PCs sind für ~2 interne Platten konzipiert.. an sich kann das Teil auch Board, RAM und CPU noch haben, ist auch gut, muss nicht nur das Gehäuse sein.

Soll ein NAS draus werden ;D QNAP ist zu teuer.. und ja..

soll es denn so ein typisches NAS-Gehäuse sein?
den spontan fällt mir da nur sachen ein, die wohl zu teuer sind - bzw. die nicht passen.

Wie wäre es denn mit nem 19"-2HE Rack ;P

Dachte ich auch immer, habs dann aber doch gemacht und bin mehr als glücklich mit der Entscheidung. Allerdings nur nen TS-219P+, das TS-419P+ brauche ich dann doch nicht wirklich.

Ich habe auch sowas ähnliches vor !

Ich werde mir das:

Lian Li PC-Q08B schwarz Mini-ITX

oder

Fractal Design Define Mini schwarz mATX

holen, die haben beide Platz für bis zu 6 x 3,5" Platten.

dann ein schickes Mainboard mit CPU rein.

werde vermutlich nen 1155 Mini ITX Board reinkloppen da hab ich dann onboard Raid drauf und hau da 4 X 2TB rein !

zusätzlich kannste das teil dann als Storage oder Media PC benutzen.

also ohne Festplatten komme ich auf ca 320€ !!! also genauso viel wie die Meisten gänigen NAS Systeme mit 4 Einschüben.

Wenn Ihr genauere Infos braucht kann ich euch auch alle Bauteile genauer Posten wie das bei mir aussehen soll!

Not really sure about the prices in germany, but I own a Synology DS480 NAS, that has served me faithfully for 3 years now. I use it with RAID 5, but it supports most common versions, and has a lot of software preinstalled (using a linux core, that can be unlocked at the cost of voiding the warrenty). It has a gigabit LAN interface, so reading sequentially is at about 100 MB/s (average), where as writting is about 20 MB/s (due to the calculation of the parity bit, I guess it would be 100/100 with raid 0 / 1).

Also, when unlocked, you can install other server software on it, so it is pretty much a small computer with no moniter or keyboard.

I know it is not exactly what you asked for, but as I said, it has served me well.

Ah, upon looking up the prices, it seems qnap and synology are priced pretty equally, so I guess you can't really use this. :-/

QNAP has pretty awesome software and besides that I don't know much about the Synology system.
I wanted to create NAS with 4 or 6 HDDs with FreeNAS as system.

Ich hatte vor dem QNAP nen Synology DS-211+ für ne Woche stehen. Hatte es aber aufgrund eines Defektes mit der 2. Festplatte (lag am NAS und nicht an der Platte) wieder zurückgehen lassen. Die Software fand ich nicht weniger gut als die vom QNAP, hatte allerdings nicht wirklich viel Zeit sie zu testen. Das QNAP hatte ich dann genommen weil es farblich und von den Maßen doch besser gepasst hatte, das Synology kein WOL hatte und mir der Aufpreis in dem Moment dann doch wieder egal war (was eigentlich einer der Gründe fürs Synology war).

I cant really claim that Synology is flawless, since I only own a single system (though it has never let me down). I originally picked it, because it had loads of software, basically giving me a server, not just a NAS, but to be honest, I primarily use the storage part.

I assume Qnab is similar or better in quality, but again, I have no experience with that.

On topic, I dont really know of any cabinets suited to creating your own nas. The closest is probably a server rack, but they tend to be bulky and ugly...

ist wohl das gleiche wie das Gerät was bei FreeNAS angeboten wird

kann jemand ein gutes Mainboard empfehlen?
DDR2 Board liegen bei rund ~60-70€ und DDR3 bei 130-150€
für DDR3 würden auch die günstige RAM Preise bei 8 GB dafür sprechen.. aber 8 GB sind für NAS oversized.. daher tendiere ich eher zu DDR2 da es auch billiger ist.. Dualcore Atom

naja ~300€ ohne platten ist kein schlechter Preis für das fertige Gerät, QNAP kostet das doppelte mit schlechtere Hardware

Mini-ITX: wie wäre es mit einem ASrock A330GC
das ist rel. billig, hat 2 DDR2 Bänke platz und einen PCI anschluss.
zudem Gigabit-Lan.

und gibt es auch mit dualcore-atom drauf. Für ein NAS sollte das normal langen.

also ASUS E35M1-I, integrierte AMD E-350, Mini-ITX ist rrichtig nett.. auch wenn kein RAID onBoard.. vllt spare ich mir die 20€ und mach mit ZFS ein software raid ;D

356€ + 160€ fürs Gehäuse + ggf. 20€ extra für noch 4GB RAM = 520/540€

NAS mit 8 TB bzw weniger wegen dem RAID
