I am using win 7 64bit. I tried it in windows98/Me compatibility mode and getting a "????????????...syntax.error". Can anybody help??

If you are using Win7 ultimate, switch your OS language to Japanese.

Ok I tried switching os and using applocale, but still no luck
Any other suggestions??

Wenn du die Stelle meinst, wo ne Waage und ne Messlatte abgebildet sind, dann schau mal auf die Tabelle an der Wand, da is rechts unten ein kleiner Zettel, der hervorschaut, den nimmst du und dann gehts weiter. ^^
