Lately I've seen a resurgence of idol anime.
just a few examples from the last 2 years.
What do you guys think of them? What about the genre in general? When I first started watching anime--idol anime along with sports anime were my least liked genres. I've mellowed out but they are both still hard to swallow. I think my biggest gripe is the shallowness of the idol genre. It is a shallow profession so that is to be expected....
well each show uses that differently. I enjoy Aikatsu! because it focuses on hard work (and selling a card game) of the girls rather than being 'instant idols' like with Koi-Ken! which I did not enjoy as they spent -3% of the time actually practicing.
Then there are the in-between shows. "Almost idol anime" like Mermaid Melody Pichi Pichi Pitch and Senki Zesshou Symphogear which has a nice balance. Do you guys like these shows more when it comes to idols?
- Uta no Prince-sama
- Love Live!
- The iDOLM@STER
- Aikatsu!
- Pretty Rhythm
- AKB0048
- Koi-ken!
