The game begins with the Queen of the Faerie realm speaking to the father figure in this game, addressing the father figure by the profession he chooses. She explains that a certain faerie wishes to become a human princess, and has pleaded with her to come to the human world. She then bestows the girl on the hero, making it his job to raise her to adulthood. To help with the task, a faerie housekeeper by the name of Uzu is assigned to the hero, and thus the journey begins.

This is the sequel to Princess Maker 2, a game where you were chosen to take care of a 10 years old girl until her 18th birthday, defining what kind of life she would then take, based on her stats and what kind of classes and work she took.
The game was only released in Japan and South Korea, to the Playstation, Sega Saturn, Dreamcast and Windows PC.
There are a number of differences between PM2 and 3. The first is that you can choose your own job, which affects your daughter's starting mood, your house and your starting gold, annual salary and credit limit. Yup, now you can also take loans.
Secondly, you no longer need to plan whole monthly schedules. Instead, you have a total of 192 weeks, which you can fill as you see fit. If you want to send her on a single work week, you can. If you want to put her through 10 straight weeks of work/rest, you can.
Third, there are 3 different Festivals your daughter can attend to, with alternating cycles of 1 - 2 per year.
Also, there's no more Adventuring. Fighting and combat skills in general lost a lot of importance.
There are at least 60 different endings, with more at least 3 different princess' endings
