Hey guys!
What's your favorite genre? Band? Song?
What are you listening to right now?
What was the last album you bought?
What album are you waiting for?
Everything music related, here.

As for me, I'm a progressive rock/metal addict.
My father made me listen to Pink Floyd, so I kinda grew up listening to prog. My current favorite band is Porcupine Tree (or whatever Steven Wilson does, actually). Can't really name a favorite song, though. Too many to pick from.
Not really listening to any song right now since I'm watching streams, but lately I've been listening to Haken a lot.
I was waiting for Sorceress by Opeth, which got released last month. Can't say it's their best work, but it's got a few really good songs.

My favorite band is Muse. I like most of their songs so far. Their old work was mostly Alt-rock/rock/space-rock and they're not afraid of experimenting with different genres [as evidenced by their recent albums] Hardcore Muse fans like their older work though [Showbiz and Origin of Symmetry].

I'm currently listening to some Stonebank, Panda Eyes and Rameses B songs, most of them are DnB and Electro.

I also play Osu so I get to listen to some Japanese/Korean songs and those Dubstep/House/Glitch Hop like songs. XD

Yeah, I'm on that train. Totally think their old stuff was better. Thing is, it's okay for bands to progress with their music when they feel they've hit a wall. Much like Opeth did when they stopped making Doom/Black/Death (whatever) Metal. It's sad to see the part of the band that attracted you on the first place go, but at the same time you can't expect them to keep doing the same thing over and over forever.

My taste in music has changed a lost over the past years and now i listen to pretty much anything with the dominant genres being a wide variety of electronic music (from ambient chillstep over synthwave to psytrance) and pop (from Michael Jackson to TLC) and rock (Genesis to limp bizkit) from 80s to the early 2000s.

6 years ago my palette was vastly narrower, consisting almost exclusively of metal (mostly folk, but also many other kinds).
Listening to one genre only is bound to get boring sooner or later and metal doesn't offer the biggest variety to begin with (not small, but not that big either).
I've heard some mean shit for holding this opinion though...

i have a huge bandwidth of bands/music i like.
my dad has too a big CD collection, mostly blues, metal and alle the good old stuff (pink floyd, led zeppelin, acdc, motorhead, iron maiden, and so on) wich influenced me at some point of my listening properties.

atleast i wasn't into the old metal stuff but i liked pink floyd and some of iron maiden. but my true "outcoming" i had in that genres was system of a down, static-x, slipknot, limp bizkit (you see, i got there a wide range of different genres all the way through)

then i got a phase where electro music hit my ears, hardcore, speedcore, breakcore (still listening), splittercore (sounds like a full highway while you stick knifes in your ears xD)

i got many phases where i found new bands and genres which i like, but for now i mostly listening to stoner/sludge/southern/doom or some times brutal technical deathmetal/core :D

some of my (today) favorite bands are:
Cowboys & Aliens
Droid Attack
Demonic Death Judge
Herder
Clutch
Church Of Misery
Aeon
Archspire
Igorrr

but my alltime favorites are:
Tool
Venetian Snares
Meshuggah
which influenced my whole life

you can check my spotify acc to see some more awesome bands :)

It's like every person who listens to metal has had at least one SOAD/Slipknot/Korn/Bizkit phase. But I kinda skipped it, I used to think they were "too heavy for me" when I was younger. Then I discovered Sabbath and Priest (thanks to Guitar Hero, ugh), but what sealed the deal with metal for me was Maiden.

Also, Tool is GREAT.

back in my days i was addicted to Linkin Park. but after releasing "Meteora" the new albums of Linkin Park doesn't reached the same Quality level (in my opinion). but before this point i would say that Linkin Park was the most important band in my life. i enjoyed it very much. and my favorite song is "my december" and "forgotten".

but today my favorite band: My Sleeping Karma psychedelicrock from germany!!) and Moksha from sleeping karma was the last album i bought.

oh yeah linkin park was a long time on my side too and i think meteora was the last good album. i don't like the new "pop/mainstream" style at all and the decision to change it. only some single songs are okay but overall they lost my interest after meteora (also the jay-z album was fully unneeded)

and thanks for My Sleeping Karma pwnulator, i listen to it right now :D

Was a fan of Linkin park during my Elementary/Primary school days, listened to Hybrid Theory and Meteora; Midnight sun and succeeding albums lack something for me.

For me it is difficult if not impossible to choose favorite genre or a band, my tastes are just too wide. But I have some preferences. I like metal from thrash like Metallica to power and sympho like Avantasia or pure instrumental like Demetori or Thousand Leaves, I like smooth jazz, I like classical music especially when Sir Georg Solti is the conductor, I like Eufonius, don't even know what genre they are, I like sweet voiced pop like Yanagi Nagi or Lia. As for what I am listening now, it is main vocal theme from a beautiful game Mirror's Edge - Warning Call by CHVRCHES.

Pretty hooked onto the Kimi no Na Wa OST atm. I feel like there's a lot of diversity within and all of the vocal songs sound amazing.
