Story:
Toushin Tournament -- an annual event held in the Toushin Toushi. All contestants are required to register with a beautiful female partner, and the winner of each battle gains the privilege of doing anything they want with the loser's partner (except harming them). The final winner of the tournament earns the title of Toushin, and gets to live freely in the Toushin District of the city with his partner.

Five years ago, Nakuto's father participated in the Toushin Tournament, saying he'll be back when he wins. That was the last Nakuto ever heard of him. Now, having grown up and hoping to discover the fate of his father, Nakuto sets out to enter the tournament his father disappeared in.

Looks like a really nice game, however, I'm having problems with the installing..
I tried using applocate / daemon tools / setting computer to japanese but i got the
same error with all options:

It looked a bit different when my computer was set to japanese but it concerned the
same file.. i tried renaming all files with japanese characters as well or re-extracting but
nothing worked.
I'd appreciate if someone could help.

the name of the game folder must be the name that the game set in the installation - the japanese letters with the 3 at the end..

Thank you, but what do you mean by game folder?
I'd imagine you mean the folder GAMEDATA but I can't rename this on the
virtual drive. I can extract the .iso with winrar though and pretty much get the
same as running it through daemon plus I'm able to rename it (that's what I'm trying
at this moment).
Or did you mean another folder? Besides that GAMEDATA i only have 2-3 folders inside of
it and in c:\ I have one called Alicesoft with 2 folders in there (one called the gameset name with 3 in the end) both empty though, I guess because the installation failed.
Edit: Seems like you didn't mean the GAMEDATA, tried renaming it and now it gives me an error immediatelly. So which folder did you mean?

the folder where you will install the game - like c:\games\闘神都市３\
it must have the japanese letters...
but i have one question about the screenshot from you...
you said you have set your system to japanese (or try applocale), but why the letters in the error not showing japanese letters - only the other crap...

It wasn't set to Japanese when I made this screenshot. I used applocate though I think.
However,
I'll show you how my installation goes right now:
(This is without using a virtual drive through daemon tools, extrated the TOUSHIN3.iso with Winrar and started the .exe with ApploCate and german system)

i have no real idea, i think there is a file corrupt which mean you have to download the whole thing again...

Maybe you don't need to redownload the whole thing
If you still have the files just use Winrar and check them then redownload only the bad one

That doesn't work unfortunatelly because the .rar's all show the same content since they're connected so i can't know which is the bad one. IF there even is a bad one.. never had a problem with downloading a corrupt file before so I somehow doubt it's that.
I don't know either what else it could be though, not too familiar with japanese games.
have only downloaded AG3 before.. it was difficult too but worked out in the end but there aren't really any places to ask about install-difficulties for this game here it seems..
thanks for your suggestions though.

If you are running Vista you should try opening containing folder and Run as Administrator and of course making sure you have updated drivers.

I wonder if it's really a corrupt file... it'd be easy to find out but downloading
everything over again....

If the original author still has the files, he could create a checksum file, e.g. with crc32.
That'd allow you to check if everything was downloaded as it should.

Alternatively, you could also check by hand whether all the filesizes are the same etc. (save for the last file)
