No, they aren't... I think that you don't ever played a adult rated mmo...the players aren't that way so they sure wouldn't be like that in a hentai mmo.

Are you talking about an adult rated rpg like age of conan or a mmo which just focuses on "sexual content".. if it is the second, nope i didn't play such a game so could be that i am wrong, it's just what i think

I am talking the whole time of games with sexuall content, that is what the thread is about... The oldest one is over 10 years old anyways and still successful with few million users (the adult section of Furcadia). The most people are into rping and not just "Ahahahah oh yeah give it to me"-stuff.

I think an online hentai game would at first be EPIC. Then it'd suck hardcore. "Sex plz" and the ressurection of "A/S/L plz!" along with thousands of broken marriages because of infidelity.... cyber infidelity. It'd have countless subscriptions.. then it'd dwindle to well.. millions as cyber whores and sex addicts keep it chugging for a few years before dying off as something new replaced it.

Why should they be censored, there are more then enaugh uncensored games existing in Japan for sell. It is only not allowed to sell uncensored games in stores in Japan, if it is hostet at a .com or any other kind of domain you don't need to censor anything. As example the mmosg ai sp@ce got a hentai part for verifed niconico users and nobody there is "hi, sex plz?".

Actually nobody needs to sell anything these days... ai sp@ce as example if free forever and doesn't coast anything if you don't want some clothing of an certain eroge (the mmo itself is made by eroge companies) like the Da Capo uniform.

i think we need many more years for the society to accept porn as mainstream, so a big project with more budget than the crap already out there, could be made.

if a major company produces a game where there's story, real gameplay and a good engine, but with the possibility of hentai (or sex) content it would be perfect.
Think of something like WOW but really for adults and not only a 3D Sex Chat like Redlight Center

Actually you can download it from their site, but like I said you need a niconico account (the good thing is that niconico is now also avaiable at other languages then english). Guide... I remember, there was at some wiki a english interface patch but don't ask me which one.

A hentai MMO is a complicated topic. I am working in the game business (no big and known games, tho ^^) and know a few thinks about game design and "making money with your idea"
The thing is, a MMO with hentai whould need a world it plays in. That's not a hard choice.i.E. some fantasy stuff with elves aso. Or some kind of SciFi. I whould not recommend a "today"-theme. Only if it whould play in some sort of secret society.
But the big deal comes with "What the hell should the players do?". If you only present them some kind of interactive sex simulation they won't understand why to spend 10 to 20 bugs a month for it if they can have a offline Hentai game. So there needs (as mentioned) some kind of human interaction without sexual contact. So what to do? Send them running and kill "Perverted shoeloving orcs" or "Tentacle Monsters From Outer Space"? That whould point to a typical MMORPG on the market. i.e. WoW and stuff. And you don'twant to mess with such competition when not knowing that you might have success.

So my opinion is:
If you got a huge amount of money to spend on a Hentai-MMO that's more than just plain Hentai and put alot of workpower and time into it it might be a good game. Hell. I'd play it. But it whould be a hard way there.

true, whenever people start developing a game where there's sex, they only do the sex and leave everything else, coming down to an mmo, its like telling players "hey, pay us $15 so you can try to fuck another player" (this is what happens with redlight district, anyway). Having nothing to do kills a game

Imagine if world of wacraft had an H-mode somewhat similar to Illusion games, which you could choose as a reward for a quest, you bang the npc (or get banged, whatever). That would be awesome and certainly help to keep the game alive for a good time

there was a korean sex mmorpg but it failed.

there are mods for NW2 for some sort of semi-adult mmorpg feeling, with focus in RP.

also tehres this tool called free adult chat or wahtever its called, features 3d models. you look for partner online and then smecks them. similiar to 3dsexvilla . you need to pay for teh good clothes and stuff for. girls get free points once they paid, at least they pamned that.
also thres redlight district.
they all fail

in short, a sex mmorpg would be a waste of time, as its just sex based. would get boring quickly and there are just not enough ppl who would pay for it to warrant the expenses an mmorpg would bring with it.
