[Diskussion] Impression meets prejudice of Germans

Hmmm, I do not personally know a lot of Germans, but we have assumed (and my friends from Germany confirm it) that the Germans are hard workers (but this may be a myth)

I think everyone's technically the same really! Completely true that the media affects the way we see each other and we eat up most of what they say!

Being German myself, I wouldn't necessarily say that we're inherently hard workers...

Why, plenty of people I know are lazy asses like any other on this world .

The crucial difference is that we're easily roused / quick to get to work if the situation demands it. Competetive, maybe. Even now, I'm currently in Croatia visiting relatives on a farm. It's anything but a holiday, I can tell you. All I get is farmwork :D . Fact is, if I was left to my own devices, I probably would just laze around all day. But the situation requires me to get up and get work done, so I do just that - rather efficiently, too.

Maybe Germans on average just like a challenge, though I'm not about to put that down as fact .

Being an engineer, I hear Germans build things with high precision, but also overdesigned so they are built like tanks. Not necessarily a bad thing. As long as it works and works well right?

I think my prejudice are that htey are very industrial in various ways..yes much industry.. And that htey use lots of grey architecture.

I was on Germany for 1.5 years and I can tell you that they are very nice people, some girls are very promiscuous as I learned in a studentenwohnheim (they didn't let me sleep at nights) but other than that ze germans sind serh nett :D

My prejudice? Socialist Germany is awesome. No idea if it's true, but that's why it's prejudice. As for the whole Nazi past thing, every country goes through a phase where there are some power crazed megalomaniacs in charge. Heck, America's going through one now.

My first impression with germans were actually very good. Just after certain time a had problems with a girl, but that was perfectly normal, i mean, we don´t expect to make friends with everyone at anytime.

when i think of german people i think of hard workers that fight for what they deserve. I have a friend from germany and he is a really nice lad.

Really, at first the sound of the German language scared me. But when you know some words and their meaning, you really like the language a lot.

Many people around me had said that german people is always serious and act like a robot. But when I met the real german I think they are friendly and nice guys.
