I always use the japdub, in anime or (mostly) in videogames.

English dub are bad most of the time for jap games, except some who can even be better than the original.

Sometime, it can even kill a character.

Dubs arent all that bad tbh. See cromartie highschool and or Ghost stories. I'd say those dubs are even better than their sub counterparts. Maybe its because they were given freedom on how to handle the script. Outside of comedy I think the Your Lie in April dub was also up there in terms of quality.

I don't really like dubs, but I've noticed that if they are decent and I started watching them in that language, it's ok. But if there's even the slightest possibility to listen in japanese, I'm going to. About the subs, even though it's not my native language, I preffer english, as most translate japanese->english-> other language, which makes it dillute the meaning even more

German dubs can be really good (Sailormoon, Cat's Eye), but english dub sounds horrible to me. I've watched Sage's channel for years not come across a series that didn't make me cringe. Everyone sounds like a way too deep porn guy or a third rate female actress.

Well, some of the south american dubs are REALLY good. DBZ, for example (not super. NOT SUPER.). But yeah, nowadays I only watch it in japanese with English subs.

I prefer English Sub or Dub, even though I am more fluent in German. Reading the German subs just feels very weird to me, although I can't pinpoint why that is. As for German Dub. Keep that away from me as far as you can. What I have seen, the German Dub of Animes are abysmal.

In my country. The one in sub & original dub is so different. While I child I'm so happy to watch it. But when I can translate by listen I feel pretty weird. = =

When you're young you don't really stop to think if the voice acting is good or not, you're just there for the action. When you get older, a lot of different things start putting you off. The personality that a voice actor can give to a character is crucial for character development.

agreed. when i was young, it never occurs to me how bad the voice can be. Now it's really important to convey tone. also, i might be nitpicking here but the animation of the mouth have to kinda match the voice as well. that's why sometimes english dub turns me off

Most of the time I prefer English subs since most dubs in my first lang (Filipino) sound very weird. I don't mind most English dubs though.
