tough call considering how much anime i watched growing up and different periods of my life were different and unsure when the period of growing up is considered done but i'll say Inuyasha from when i was in middle school.

well, compared to you guys, I am actually too old for this forum since my favorite anime were Uchuu SenkanYamato and Gundam, both commercial very successful series in the 70s
